Georgian wool market set to become apartment block

A 200-year-old former wool market and warehouse in Louth looks set to be transformed into six apartments.
The Grade II listed Woolmart on the corner of Kidgate and Lee Street was built for the Louth Corporation in 1825, and originally used for the storage and sale of wool.
Under plans submitted to East Lindsey District Council, two flats would be created on each level of the three-storey building.
The building’s exterior would remain unchanged, except for the addition of glazing panels and safety rails, the developer said.
The application states that "the proposals offer a future for this building in a way that will conserve the existing fabric and bring the building to life".
The building has also been used as a furniture warehouse and was most recently the home of John Taylors auctioneers, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
