Hebridean Air Services (HAS) is expected to take over running flights between Stornoway and Benbecula next month.

Comhairle Nan Eilean Siar has signalled its intention to award the contract to the Oban-based company.

The service, currently run by Loganair, is used by many patients travelling to and from hospital appointments in Stornoway.

HAS already operates flights between Oban and the islands of Coll, Tiree and Colonsay.
