Man treated for head injury after gang assault

The man is in a serious but stable condition, police said

Police are appealing for information after a man was left with a serious head injury following an assault on Saturday morning.
Officers are investigating reports a group of about six men assaulted the victim and a man he was with between 12:00 and 12:35am (BST) in the area of High Street, Cambray Place and Rodney Road in Cheltenham town centre.
They said the injured man remained in a serious but stable condition in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, after being taken there by paramedics.
The second man sustained bruising and swelling to his face but did not require hospital treatment, officers said.
The men in the group who carried out the assault were described as in their late teens to early 20s.
Gloucestershire Constabulary said inquiries were taking place and urged anyone with information to come forward.
