Guernsey's Housing Forum wants to bring landlords and tenants together with building firms and government

Business leaders in Guernsey have called for swift action to tackle the island's housing shortage ahead the this year's general election.

Guernsey Chamber of Commerce said its new Housing Forum aims to bring landlords, tenants, business and government together to "collaborate" on solutions.

It said it also aims to share its priorities with incoming deputies and provide "independent and constructive" policy advice to the States.

A spokesperson said there was an "urgent need for diverse housing solutions and the need for action without delay".

The forum would be an "impartial coordinator" to "facilitate discussions and drive meaningful progress" on the housing shortage, the Chamber of Commerce said.
