A man is to stand trial charged with the killing another man at an industrial estate in Aberdeenshire.
Rodney Shaw, 51, of Montrose, Angus, denies attacking father-of-four David McGuinness, 30, of Inverurie, on 26 September last year in Stonehaven.
The incident is said to have happened at GPH Builders Merchant in Spurryhillock Industrial Estate. Mr McGuinness suffered a cardiac arrest and died in hospital.
A trial has been fixed for September next year at the High Court in Aberdeen.
It is alleged Mr McGuinness was repeatedly punched on the head and body.
It is further alleged Mr Shaw pushed, pulled and threw him towards a vehicle resulting in him hitting his head.
The case called for a short hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
Defence Gordon Jackson KC told the court that Mr Shaw was excused attendance and that a trial could be set.
Lady Drummond fixed the trial date for 1 September 2025.
