A new artisan Christmas market is coming to Wolverhampton, and local stallholders are being invited to take part.

The market is part of the city's wider festival programme and will open on Victoria Street a few hours before the Christmas lights switch-on event at 18:00 GMT on 22 November.

It will then continue for the rest of the weekend before returning on 28 November to run alongside the Wolverhampton Fringe Arts Festival, lantern parade and light projection show.

Cabins for traders cost between £50 and £200 to use and can be booked via the City of Wolverhampton Council website.

Those attending the lights switch-on in Queen Square will be able to watch performances from Bilston Operatic Company and swing and jazz vocalist Andrew Bourn.

The event also includes a funfair, a giant snow globe, face painting and food and drink stalls.
