Man dies after single-vehicle crash at roundabout

Witnesses to the crash, which took place near the Rayleigh Spur roundabout, have been urged to contact the police

A 37-year-old man has died after a single-vehicle crash near a roundabout.

Essex Police closed the roads surrounding the Rayleigh Spur roundabout, near Rayleigh, after the crash at 04:30 BST on Wednesday.

The driver of a car was taken to hospital but died later that morning, the force said.

It appealed for any witnesses or those with dash cam footage to get in contact.

The family of the man have been receiving support from specialist officers, police added.
