Drivers have been delayed by heavy congestion on a stretch of the M25 after a four-vehicle crash on a slip road.

Early on Monday, traffic at the Thurrock roundabout at junction 30 of the motorway, in Essex, was moving slowly towards the Queen Elizabeth II bridge at the Dartford Crossing.

There were also delays of around 30 minutes on the westbound carriageway of the A13.

The entry slip road for the clockwise direction of the M25 had been blocked due to the crash since shortly before 06:00 BST.

Queues on the M25 stretched back about two miles for southbound traffic. A broken down lorry also caused delays on the A13, near Lakeside Shopping Centre.

Essex Police said four vehicles were involved and the East of England Ambulance Service sent two ambulances to the scene. Two men were taken to Basildon University Hospital for further assessment and treatment.

National Highways said the area was clear by 08:45.
