Road crash victims' injuries now life-threatening

The crash happened at the junction of Bristol Road and Frankley Beeches Road

Injuries suffered by man and a woman who were hit by a car are now considered to be life-threatening, police have said.
The pair, aged in their 60s, were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham after they were hit by a black Mercedes in Northfield, at about 13:00 GMT on Monday.
A 52-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has since been released under investigation as inquiries continue.
West Midlands Police said it had "spoken to a number of potential witnesses".
The crash took place near the junction of Frankley Beeches Road, and Sir Herbert Austin Way.
The road was shut for several hours while crash investigators were at the scene, but was later re-opened.
