Flower show takes 'step in right direction'

This year's Shrewsbury Flower Show has been hailed as "another big step in the right direction".
The event has been recovering following two years of coronavirus restrictions and then a bomb scare in 2023. Chairperson Leanne Garvey said organisers "feel optimistic" about 2025.
The 2024 show, which took place over the weekend, featured more than 35 floral exhibitors and 175 traders.
Ms Garvey said: "It was magical, the buzz around the showground was amazing."
"The committee worked so hard to ensure that we had a good number of horticultural stands, our trade stands and our exhibitors, within our main marquee and our other marquees," she said.
She also said it was their aim to get the show back to where it was pre-Covid and that she had received some "really positive feedback".
Speaking after the event, she said: I think we got most things right, but obviously there are things we will take forward and build on from this years show to make next years show even better and even bigger."
