Guernsey Airport has reopened after the emergency landing of a Aurigny flight, Guernsey Ports has confirmed.

The flight had been travelling from Southampton to Alderney when at 15:46 BST it was diverted to Guernsey because of a problem with its hydraulics.

A Guernsey Ports spokesperson said the aircraft "landed safely" at 15:58 with no injuries to any passengers or crew.

An Aurigny spokesperson added: "Thanks to the swift and professional actions of our experienced crew and adherence to safety protocols, all customers and crew remained completely safe throughout the incident."

The Aurigny spokesperson continued: "Dornier G-OAUR experienced a hydraulic warning after taking off.

"The experienced crew diverted the aircraft to Guernsey Airport as a precaution, where it landed safely."

Aurigny said a replacement aircraft was being organised and service would resume "as soon as possible".

The runway was reopened at 16:27.
