A Halloween-themed projection trail will bring ghostly figures to buildings across Leicester city centre.

The ghost trail, which will take place between 20 October and 2 November, will see eight ghoulish characters projected across public spaces and shop windows.

Bickering Roman Centurions, mischievous monks who will not stay silent and eyeballs that will follow people down the street will all feature in the displays.

Designed and created by arts organisation MBD, the trail will encourage ghost hunters to track down each spirit.

Organisers said visitors can use the My Leicester app to guide them along the trail, uncover hidden histories, and hear ghostly goings-on through audio clips.

They will also be able to compete for a £300 prize.

The event is also supported by Leicester City Council and Arts Council England.

Simon Jenner, Director of BID Leicester, said: "After the success of Leicester Monsters two years ago, we wanted to bring something that sparks wonder and joy back to the city centre for Halloween.

"The Ghost Hunt is a newly commissioned trail just for Leicester city centre, and designed for everyone – fully accessible, free to enjoy, and a great reason to come and explore Leicester."
