A man has been arrested after police cars were rammed by another car and three officers were hurt.
They were on patrol on Montpellier Street, Highgate, Birmingham at about 09:30 BST on Saturday when they tried to speak to a man in a VW Scirocco who they alleged was acting suspiciously, West Midlands Police said.
He tried to drive off and rammed three police cars and a parked car.
One officer needed hospital treatment but has since been released while the other two suffered minor injuries, the force said.
Tools and sets of number-plates were found in the Scirocco.
The 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding of police officers, going equipped to steal, criminal damage to four vehicles and aggravated vehicle taking.
He was also held on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, drug-driving and possession of a bladed article.
