Showers see TT racing moved to evening contingency

The first Superstock and Supertwin races have been rescheduled for the evening session

The continuation of racing at the Isle of Man TT has been pushed back to the evening's session due to wet roads.
Clerk of the course Gary Thompson confirmed the first Supertwin and Superstock races of the meeting will now take place using a contingency session after 18:00.
Although a rescheduled practice lap for the sidecars took place at 13:00 BST, further showers in the west of the island prevented daytime racing.
That followed heavy rain overnight, which left conditions on parts of the course unsuitable for racing in the morning.
The latest delays to the TT race schedule follow significant disruption to qualifying for the event due to the weather, which set the race schedule back by two days.
The latest hold-up has also seen both of the evening's races reduced from three laps to two.
Tuesday's race schedule
13:00 - Sidecar practice (1 Lap)
18:30 -Superstock TT Race 1 (2 Laps)
19:45 - Supertwin TT Race 1 (2 Laps)
The mountain section of the course was closed on Monday ahead of the gales and will remain shut until Tuesday's race schedule has concluded.
Roads around the rest of the 37.7-mile (61km) course were initially closed as planned at 10:00 to allow for an inspection of the circuit at 11:15 but have since reopened.
They will be closed again at 18:00 for the evening's racing, but reopen no later than 21:30.
Organisers have confirmed the car park at St George's Football Club will stay closed due to rainfall and "poor ground conditions".
