Train passengers are being warned of disruption because of work in several locations in Gloucestershire.

From Monday, Network Rail will be replacing a drainage system and cleaning stone near a railway tunnel at Newnham on Severn.

And close to Lydney, 640 metres (700 yards) of track at the end of its working life will be replaced. There will also be work to prepare to install new equipment at Broken Cross level crossing near Westbury-on-Severn.

Network Rail said the line will be closed between Gloucester and Chepstow to allow the work to be completed safely, with buses replacing trains.

The work is expected to last five days.
