Shop and parts of college shut after flooding
- Published
Parts of a college and a shop in Jersey have closed due to flooding and thunder storms on Saturday and Sunday, staff say.
Parts of Highlands College have been closed on Monday, with a spokesperson saying staff were "very sorry for the disruption".
They said staff had been in at the weekend "dealing with the impact" but that roof of part of the building was still leaking.
The Co-op at Val Plaisant was also flooded, with managers saying on social media that damage to the store meant it would remain closed until Tuesday.
The college said there had been flooding across two floors of its building and students would need to be relocated until it was dry
It added that electrical works had been tested and it would keep students updated as and when the situation changed.
The Co-op staff said the store would remain closed "due to internal damage sustained" during "exceptional weather".
Flights were also cancelled in Guernsey due to the weather.
