Emergency crews have been tackling a huge blaze at a paper mill in Fife.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said 13 crews and two specialist appliances were sent to the fire at the Sapphire Paper Mill in Leslie at about 05:15 on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Fourstones, which owns the site, said all staff had been accounted for but emergency services remained at the scene.

The SFRS advised residents near the Glenwood Road area to keep windows and doors closed where possible.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed no-one at the scene required medical treatment.

A Fourstones spokesman said: "All staff are safe and accounted for.

"The fire is now under control and does not appear to have spread to warehousing or production facilities.

"We will work with all relevant authorities as needed."
