Alderney is to hold events celebrating the 80th anniversary of World War Two's VE Day on two days, the government says.

The States said a tea party will be hosted in the Island Hall Gardens from 14:00 BST until 15:30 on Monday 5 May, which was open to all.

In addition, on Thursday 8 May, a beacon is to be lit on the Butes at 20:30.

Organisers said the beacon lighting would see the Island Band playing from 19:50, with singers joining at 20:15 to help attendees participate in singing I Vow to Thee My Country, which is also due to be sung across the UK.
