Arrest after reports of drone flown over prison

Police received reports of a drone being flown over HMP Long Lartin at about 02:50 BST

A man has been arrested after police investigating reports a drone had been flown over a prison discovered an abandoned car full of contraband nearby.

Officers were called to HMP Long Lartin in South Littleton, Worcestershire, at about 02:50 BST on Tuesday.

A black Audi was sighted in the area and failed to stop, it was then found soon after in the Ullington area.

A drone along with mobile phones and suspected contraband was found in the vehicle, a man in his 20s was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to convey prohibited items into a prison.

West Mercia Police are searching for two other people while the man remains in custody.
