Teenager charged with boy's attempted murder

A 17-year-old has been charged with attempted murder after a teenage boy was stabbed in the face.

Officers were alerted to a report of a stabbing Church Way in Bedworth at about 12:50 BST on Friday, Warwickshire Police said.

The teenager was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his face which were not thought to be life threatening, the force said.

A boy from Bedworth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear at Coventry Magistrates Court on Monday in connection with the attack.

The accused has also been charged with possession of cannabis and possession of a weapon in a public place.
