Drivers have been warned of disruption when 10 weeks of roadworks begin in Stoke-on-Trent later this month.

Work to resurface the bridge over the former railway line on Arbourfield Drive will start on 24 June, the city council confirmed.

The road will remain open but temporary traffic lights will be set up for the duration of the work.

Arbourfield Drive is the only entrance and exit out of the Eaton Park estate and the authority has told motorists their journeys would be delayed.

The council confirmed one of the footpaths over the bridge would also be open at all times for pedestrians.

Staff from the authority have also visited Eaton Park Academy to encouragre parents to walk their children to the school.
