A motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash on the M23 in West Sussex.

Emergency services were called to junction 10 at about 18:45 GMT on Wednesday to reports of a collision involving two motorbikes, Sussex Police said.

The M23 northbound was closed between junctions 11 and 10, close to Crawley and Gatwick Airport, National Highways said.

The police said the rider's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The incident comes after six people were taken to hospital and 34 treated at the scene following a multiple vehicle pile-up along the same stretch of the M23 earlier this month.

The crash involving 15 vehicles on 1 March led to the motorway being closed between junctions 10 and 11.
