Deputy questions parish hall attic conversion plan

Questions have been raised over plans to spend about £750,000 on re-roofing, exterior painting and creating a one-bedroom flat at St Brelade's Parish Hall.
Deputy Montfort Tadier is calling for St Brelade parish to look at other ways of helping "solve the housing problem".
Parishioners are to vote on the idea on Tuesday evening at a parish assembly.
Mr Tadier said the basis for his concerns about the project was about whether it stacks up financially.
He said: "These are fairly big sums for a medium sized parish to spend.
"I think if we looked at maybe some of the other parish land or properties and said actually can we get maybe 20 units in there which could be mixed accommodations.
"Those are the kind of conversations that we need to be having as a parish - I think we need to look at the bigger picture."
Mr Tadier hopes to have some questions answered before the vote on Tuesday evening.
The questions include what is the cost of the building of the flat against the other maintenance work, what sum is anticipated to be charged in rent for the flat and if the flat will be suitable for a couple or just for single occupancy.
