Torbay councillors are to look at the issue of dementia support at an upcoming meeting.

The Devon council said its adult social care sub-board would explore how well dementia services and support work for those living with the condition.

The NHS and social care representatives would be in attendance at the meeting, the authority said.

Councillor Patrick Joyce, the board's chairman, said it was vital to understand how services could be improved.

He said "ever-increasing demand for appropriate care" meant future needs should be looked at.

The meeting will be held in Banking Hall at Town Hall, Torquay, at 14:00 GMT on 14 March.

Residents have been invited to submit questions on the subject via email to scrutiny@torbay.gov.uk, external by 11 March.
