'Erosion and cracks' close coastal path
A coastal path on the Jurassic Coast has been closed due to erosion and cracks.
The route, which runs along the top of eastern cliffs at West Bay, Bridport, has been cordoned off by Dorset Council for safety reasons.
Earlier this year a series of three rockfalls blocked the beach below.
A Dorset Council spokesperson said an alternative path would "allow people to divert around the closed section of coast path".
Woman bled to death after hip replacement operation
A 79-year-old woman bled to death following a hip operation after being rushed to a hospital which lacked a service to save her, a coroner has said.
Christine Booker, from Wareham, died on 24 February 2023, the day after her hip replacement.
Coroner Brendan Allen said she was initially transferred to Dorset County Hospital in Dorchester, which had no out-of-hours interventional radiology - an imaging procedure - before being sent to Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Man jailed over fatal crash in dual carriageway race
A driver has been jailed for 14 years and four months for causing a fatal crash during a high-speed race on a dual carriageway.
Dannie O'Leary, 30, from London, pleaded guilty during his trial at Bournemouth Crown Court to causing death and two serious injuries by dangerous driving as well as using false plates.
George Greaves, 31, was pronounced dead on the A338 near the Ashley Heath Roundabout in Dorset on 25 June 2023.
Evicted mother who felt 'hopeless' finds new home
A woman who became homeless when she was evicted after reporting a mould issue has found a new home for her family.
Chloe Bloomer, 31, said she felt "hopeless" when her landlord handed her a section 21 notice in March 2023.
The Bournemouth mother-of-two has found a private home to rent for her family and is urging other renters to be careful.
Bestselling thriller author inspired by coastline
Bournemouth author Lucy Clarke has been talking about how her home town inspired her to become a full-time writer.
The 42-year-old has had eight novels published, two of which have been adapted into big-budget TV series.
But it wasn't until her mid-20s she decided to become an author.
