Windy forecast shuts winter festival again
- Published
A winter lights festival will close to visitors over the weekend because of strong winds that are forecast.
The Nene Park Winter Festival at Ferry Meadows in Peterborough has been showcasing a lit-up willow sculpture trail, an outdoor cinema and live performances.
Nene Park Trust apologised for calling off the event and a spokesperson said: "The safety of our visitors, performers, volunteers and staff is our top priority."
Visitors with booked tickets would be refunded, the trust said.
The festival is due to reopen for Monday and Christmas Eve.
The event was also temporarily closed earlier this month due to winds forecast as a result of Storm Darragh.
