A man has died after ambulance services were called to a "medical emergency" at a gym.

West Midlands Ambulance Service responded to a call at JD Gyms on Arlington Way in Shrewsbury at 14:40 GMT on Wednesday and said the patient was found in a critical condition.

The ambulance service said bystanders had attempted to give him CPR and "ambulance staff immediately administered advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone's best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene."
