People are being reminded of the rules for bonfires and fireworks in the lead up to Guy Fawkes night.
The Office of Environmental Health and Pollution Regulation said people could only have bonfires between Monday 3 November and Friday 7 November.
It said those planning public bonfire or firework displays were asked to submit details on the government website and private displays should only be held on Wednesday 5 November.
Tobin Cook, director of environmental health and pollution regulation, said: "We want everyone to enjoy bonfire night, which is why we encourage event organisers to familiarise themselves with the guidelines beforehand."
The department said registering events would inform neighbours and animal owners about noise.
Fireworks would be able to be sold between 29 October and close of business on 5 November.
Fireworks would need to be set off on Bonfire Night, Wednesday 5 November, or if not possible, an alternative evening between 3 November and 7 November.
He added it was quick and easy to get in touch and there was plenty of information online to "advise you on best practices, good neighbourliness, and consideration for local wildlife when planning your bonfire night."
