Everton FC returns with summer football camp

Premiership club Everton is running the camp for aspiring Jersey footballers

Coaches from Premiership club Everton are returning to Jersey with a summer football camp for children aged between six and 14.
Overall 114 aspiring young footballers from Jersey have signed up to the coaching week at St Peter FC Academy.
More than 3,000 young players have participated in the 22 years Everton FC has been sending coaches to run summer camps on Jersey.
The club's academy coach Sean Robertson said: "The raw talent in Jersey always seems to be at a good standard and they love their football."
Mr Robertson added: "The eagerness to learn is always apparent. Their love of football seems insatiable and this always grows as the week progresses."
Many of the children attending the coaching week at St Peter FC Academy from Monday 11 August have been before.
St Peter FC senior coaches also help children develop football skills, teamwork and communication skills on and off the pitch.
Players will start the day with a mixture of ball skills, before going on to a variety of technical and tactical based sessions.
The young players are encouraged to to put their skills to the test in small-sided games throughout the week before an awards ceremony attended by their parents.
Brian Foulser from St Peter FC said: "As is the Everton way, the learning process is conducted with good humour and plenty of fun and enjoyment along the way."
