More than 40 flats have been evacuated due to a fire overnight in Dover, Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) says.
The fire service said it had sent 12 fire engines and two height vehicles to the blaze in Crabble Hill which had been reported at about 01:10 BST on Sunday.
In an update at 16:40 BST on Sunday, the fire service says all 12 fire engines remain at the scene, but the number will be reduced, with crews due to remain on site overnight.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Kent Police are also at the scene, but the cause of the fire is not yet known."
Fire crews evacuated 42 flats, with Dover District Council saying it was offering support and providing emergency accommodation to those affected.
KFRS said its volunteer response team also attended to provide welfare support for the crew and assistance to displaced residents.
Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
