Width restriction proposed to improve road safety

The width restriction has been proposed for Kilnbank Road in Market Drayton
- Published
Plans to introduce a width restriction have been announced to stop larger vehicles getting stuck on a road in Market Drayton.
The rule for Kilnbank Road would ban any vehicles that are more than 2.4m wide.
As part of Shropshire Council's proposed change, the existing two-tonne weight limit on the road between Walkmill Road and Shropshire Street would also be revoked.
A statement on the local authority's website said: "Restricting this size of vehicle will reduce the likelihood of vehicles entering and becoming stuck along this road."
It added that it would "improve road safety for all road users and amenities in the area".
A public consultation, external on the proposed restriction will run until 1 May.
