New eco-friendly floating holiday accommodation has been agreed for St Helier Marina.

Two floating pods will sleep up to four people and have a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, lounge and deck overlooking the marina.

Ports of Jersey commissioned UK-based Waterpod Ltd to build and install the pods by October.

The 10m (33ft) long and 4.5m (15ft) wide pods will be built using sustainable materials.

Harbour master Bill Sadler said the pods would "put sustainability and responsible tourism at the heart of St Helier".

Built in Berkshire, the pods will be thermally insulated and powered by air source heat pumps and solar panels.
