Eyes to the sky: The week in Gloucestershire began with a chance to see a summer moon.

Despite being known as a blue moon, it appeared red because of North American wildlife smoke sitting in the atmosphere above the UK.

Epic effort: Gloucester Rugby legend Billy Twelvetrees led a 24 hour challenge to cycle 350 miles from the city to Leicester, Milton Keyes and Twickenham and then back again.

The 4Ed cycle challenge raised thousands of pounds for motor neurone disease charities in support of former team mate Ed Slater, who was diagnosed with MND two years ago.

It's a kids' life: This joyous photograph was taken at Westonbirt Arboretum at one of two new play areas, which include walkways, tree nets, rope bridges and climbing frames.

Built in partnership with the Forestry England and The Friends of Westonbirt Arboretum, the "natural playgrounds" are to encourage children to "connect with nature".

All aboard: A special train is celebrating the famous 'Pershore Plum'.

The locomotive is running at The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway on the line from Broadway station to Cheltenham Racecourse.
