A man has been arrested after two people were stabbed and one had something hurled at their head during a fight outside a pub.

The brawl started at about 23:45 BST outside the Anglers Arms on Wrigley Head in Failsworth, near Oldham, said a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesman.

A 28-year-old man who ran away from the scene before officers arrived was later found and arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, as well as possession of a Class A drug.

The two people who were stabbed have been treated for injuries which GMP said were "not believed to be life-threatening". The third victim suffered a head injury when an object was thrown at them.

A police cordon was put in place outside the pub while forensics teams carried out their investigations.
