Pop-up Covid-19 clinics set up

No appointments are necessary at the clinics, the trust said

Pop-up Covid-19 clinics have been set up in the Black Country to encourage eligible people to come forward for their spring vaccinations.

Walk-in clinics will be operating in supermarkets, shops and town centres in Wolverhampton, Walsall, Dudley and Sandwell on various dates until June, the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust said.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), said the next eligible groups include adults aged 75 years and over by 30 June, care home residents and those aged six months and over who have a weakened immune system.

Having the vaccine helps vulnerable people maintain a high level of protection, Sally Roberts, chief nursing officer for the NHS Black Country ICB, said.

“You don’t need to wait to be invited if you’re eligible, just come forward as soon as you can," she added.
