Pedestrian dies after being hit by car
A man was hit by a car on the A167 near Durham

A 26-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car.
Police were called to the A167 near Durham, between the Honest Lawyer and Cock of the North roundabouts, at about 02:00 BST on Sunday.
The man was treated at the scene but died a short time later in hospital, Durham Police said. The driver of the Citroen C1 was uninjured.
The road was closed for several hours. Police are appealing for witnesses.
