An eight-year-old boy was seriously injured when the electric scooter he was riding was involved in a collision with a car.

It happened on Bradshaw Street, Nelson, at about 16:26 BST on Sunday involving a Skoda Octavia, Lancashire Police said.

Emergency services attended and the child was taken to hospital where his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made and police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.
