Driver seriously injured in A64 crash

A driver has suffered serious injuries in a crash involving two cars and a lorry.
The man was driving a silver Kia when it collided with a white DAF truck and a white Suzuki car on the A64 near Tadcaster at about 19:05 GMT on Wednesday. North Yorkshire Police said the man had been taken to hospital for treatment, but that no other injuries had been reported.
National Highways said the eastbound carriageway was currently subject to a 50mph (80km/h) speed limit between the junctions for the A659/Roman Road and A659/York Road.
The road was expected to be fully closed between 20:00 GMT on Thursday and 06:00 GMT on Friday for emergency repair work to be carried out, a spokesperson said.
Anyone who witnessed the crash, or who may have relevant dash cam footage, was asked to contact North Yorkshire Police.
