Man in court charged with starting house fire

A 60-year-old man has been charged in connection with a house fire in Dudley on Monday.

An investigation found the fire, on Penfields Road, Amblecote, was started deliberately.

The suspect was arrested in his car on the A491 near Bell End, Worcestershire, on Wednesday morning.

He will appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Friday charged with burglary and arson with intent to endanger life.

West Midlands Police confirmed no one was hurt in the fire.
