Two teenagers and an 18-year old man were arrested for anti-social behaviour offences in Lincoln on Wednesday night.

The two boys, both 16, and the man were arrested on Carlton Boulevard at around 20:15 BST.

The teenagers were reported to have damaged a windscreen wiper on a police car and one of them jumped onto the vehicle. The 18-year-old was arrested for using threatening or abusive words.

The arrests came after a dispersal order was put in place for the area amid concerns about a planned protest at the Carlton Centre.

Some businesses in the area closed early and others boarded up shop windows as a precaution.

The measures were taken after messages on social media claimed the centre housed the premises of an immigration lawyer.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed "no such physical business exists" but increased patrols in the area to reassure the public.

Despite the fears, no protests or related incidents took place.
