Guernsey FC Women have been accepted into the Jersey women's league for the upcoming season, Guernsey Football Club (GFC) confirmed.

In a post on social media, external, GFC said it followed the club's recent success, which included winning the Jersey Women's FA Cup.

The Green Lionesses manager Anna Gauvain said the team was set to play two rounds in Jersey followed by four home games at Victoria Park.

The fixtures are set to take place between October and April, after the team was officially accepted into the league on Thursday.

GFC said the Green Lionesses would also compete in the UK cup competitions.

Ms Gauvain said: "We are delighted at the prospect of welcoming our Guernsey fans to Victoria Park in 2025 for our first ever home league fixtures and that will provide an exciting end to our first league campaign.

"It will be a big step in the right direction for our girls and should inject some more excitement into the game.

"The stage is set for us to continue our hard work and development, and it will be exciting to see what we can then commit to as we look ahead to our third season as GFC women."
