Pedestrian in his 40s killed in hit and run

A man in his 40s has died following a hit and run incident in County Louth.
The pedestrian was found unresponsive on the Rathmullen Road in Drogheda shortly after 02:30 local time on Sunday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardaí (police) said that the vehicle involved had failed to remain at the scene.
They have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
They have also asked for anyone with camera footage - including motorists with dashcam - from the area at the time to provide it to investigating officers.
