Revised plans for a second McDonald's in Dumfries have been approved

Burger giant McDonald's has been successful with fresh plans for a second drive-through restaurant in Dumfries - despite the bid being recommended for refusal.

Dumfries and Galloway Council's planning committee went against officer advice and gave the £4m proposals, for a site off the town's Annan Road, the green light.

The company withdrew an application last year after officials recommended it be rejected due to its visual impact.

They also advised refusal of the revised plans but the committee decided the scheme could proceed.
