A library in Surrey is to remain closed until further notice while masonry issues are investigated, a council has said.

Molesey Library first closed its doors on 29 August due to "unforeseen access issues", according to Surrey County Council (SCC).

A statement from SCC read: "Following an initial visit from an engineer, further inspection is required to determine a timeline for next steps.

"During this closure period time, all loans will be extended, and no late fees or charges will be incurred."

Reservations that are currently held at Molesey Library will be available to collect from Dittons Library.

For any holds that are pending, customers can change their collection branch online or in person at an alternative library, the council said.

The nearest alternative libraries are Dittons, Esher and Hersham.

Updates will be shared via SCC's website and social media.
