Plans have been put forward for a harbourside entertainment space.
Proposals for an amphitheatre-style stage, bar and marquee space in Maryport have been submitted to Cumberland Council.
The authority said it hoped to attract pop-up music festivals, food events and markets.
It forms part of a £12m regeneration of Maryport which also includes work to its high street, a new play park and a refurbishment of the town's activity centre.
If approved, the site would be built on an area of grass near Elizabeth Dock.
The design proposes a bar and stage built from shipping containers with an adaptable layout for different events.
Earlier in April, Cumberland Council asked people to choose the design of a play area to replace the decades-old Shiver Me Timbers.
Changes to the town's infrastructure have also included a new boardwalk connecting the promenade and harbourside.
