Households will start receiving food caddies and a starter roll of liners as a council prepares for its first food waste collections.

Test Valley Borough Council in Hampshire are giving most households a 23-litre kerbside caddy that will be emptied by teams using its new specialist collection vehicles.

All households will be given a five litre kitchen caddy to help people collect their food waste, with weekly collections set to start in the week commencing 13 October.

The caddy deliveries will start from 26 August and are likely to take about seven weeks to complete, the authority said.
