The death of a woman who was found in an Ipswich park is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

Officers were called to Sherrington Road Recreation Ground in Ipswich at 05:50 BST on Wednesday, after the woman was discovered lying on the ground by a member of the public.

Paramedics declared the woman dead shortly afterwards.

According to the force, no evidence was found to suggest there was any third-party involvement in her death.

A police spokesperson said a post-mortem examination had been conducted but the cause of death was still unascertained, so further tests were required.

"Police scenes at Sherrington Road Recreation Ground have now been lifted and the park has reopened to the public," they added.
