Patients at risk from lack of midwives

Parts of England are facing big midwife shortages, putting mothers and babies at risk, according to the Royal College of Midwives.

It says there are shortfalls across the country, but some areas are far worse than others.

The RCM has accused the prime minister of backing away from a pledge to increase midwife numbers.
