'Massive blow' for Swansea Valley miners' families

Former miner and County Councillor Ali Thomas knows two of the families of men who were trapped in a mine in the Swansea Valley.

He told the BBC that hopes of finding the men alive had faded through the course of the day, and losing the "leading light" was a massive blow for the families.

Local MP Peter Hain added that the work of the rescue workers in the flooded Gleision Colliery should be applauded.
