'Nothing can beat nuclear right now'

US President Barack Obama and leaders from more than 50 other countries have gathered in the South Korean capital of Seoul for a global nuclear summit.

Before the disaster in Fukushima last year, after the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, more than 300 nuclear reactors were proposed worldwide.

However, with safety and security concerns now at the forefront, many countries have scaled back those plans.

Nicholas Fang, director at Singapore Institute of International Affairs, told the BBC's Sharanjit Leyl that while the industry has scaled back, 'nothing can beat nuclear right now'.
